A Quiet Reminder for Today – Keep learning.

Life is a succession of lessons which must be lived to be understood. ~ Helen Keller

I had not planned to post today, but this morning when I woke up, I felt a moment of gratitude and thought about how many lessons I am learning each day from everyone here and in my daily life.  I then lay in my bed and wondered what I would learn today (thanks to KSP who did EVERYTHING to get the twins ready this morning (in full transparency this may have contributed to my ability to recognize my moment), thanks babe!)…In the spirit of my moment,  I thought I would share something educational that has recently made me happy. I watched this link called, “If I Had a Daughter”.  It’s a lovely spoken word poem from a lovely woman who is an inspiration herself in her work with our nation’s youth.

You will need to cut and paste the link into your browser:

If you have moment, check it out.  Don’t be derailed by the length as the poem is in the beginning so it won’t take too much time.  Additionally, if you choose to read the comments on the TED site, some are wonderful while others are go into the merits of her capabilities in writing “proper” spoken word poems.  If like me you love a positive message and admire those for that are able to find an interesting way to communicate it, don’t take the time to read the comments below the video as they merely rain on our collective parade, instead share the message with others and come back here and tell us what you think about her thoughts.

Lessons come in big and small and good and bad packaging,  just take he time to know when it’s happening and be grateful that you that you can honestly say you were living in the moment and ultimately you learned something.

Today is my new favorite day. I hope it yours too.
