This was during week one of my blogging and I don’t know that I would change it much as it is really the only humor and levity in the early part of my blogging journey. It has been very fun to revisit these early days, not only because it gives me a chuckle to see how things have changed but also because it makes me realize just how far we have come as a family. Thank you for allowing us to go on this journey!
“The person who knows how to laugh at himself will never cease to be amused.” Shirley MacLaine
No wonder I am constantly amused…I do plenty to keep myself and everyone else laughing, usually at me:)
Seriously, could noone have told me as I had several conversations with Valets, Doctors, Administrators, anyone who saw me over the course of the 2.5 hours I was with E to get her allergy tested, that I had a giant mark of Desitin above my lip!?!
First off, it’s hilarious. Imagine my dismay as I get in the car to drive home to head back to work, already congratulating myself for not being parent of the year. E had been having some serious, not very glamorous, digestive issues over the past 5 weeks. In conjunction with Dr. R, who you already all know, we love, we decided to get her allergy tested. We have all been thinking it was linked to a highly unsuccessful transition to milk. It couldn’t be the whole grains, oatmeal and various other additives to her pureed foods that could be the culprit. So when the fiery red dots start showing up on her back for wheat and oats, I sit and laugh, kind of…apparently E is very LA. She is embarking on a Gluten Free diet from a very young age. Of course, on her super gain weight diet of highly concentrated formula and pureed foods with butter and the culprits, I have been compounding her issues…seriously…unbelievable.
At least she won’t remember, a. that I embarrassed her in public with Desitin on my face (this won’t be the last time) and b. that I tried to interfere with her fabulously fashion forward Gluten Free lifestyle. We should all be grateful we can’t remember anything our parents did before we were 3ish… For that today I am grateful.
Now part of the link up “Ghosts of Blogging Past.”
2.5 hours is a long time!! I’m glad you’ve enjoyed looking back and enjoying the journey memories! Thank you for linking up with us!
It is long time! Although I suppose since I was in the same place most of it that helps…but good grief!:)
at least it wasn’t the big mascara smudge I have been famous for many times over. That is a very long wait with a little one!
Oh my gosh I get that one too!:). Thanks for coming by!
LOL Don’t worry – my mom walked out of the bathroom at a restaurant once with (and I’m not kidding) about 3 feet of TP hanging out of her pants. I have no idea how that even happens, but it seems to happen to her often. I’m usually pretty good at making others laugh at my expense too; but not like my mom!!
Thanks so much for linking up with us. Sorry I’m just now getting by to read this. It’s been an insane past couple weeks and I’m just now getting my head above water… well, sort of. ;^)
