Not being the same as everyone else makes us special…that’s the point.

As I read the following quote, I felt the feeling you get as tears start to well up in your eyes and you know soon the computer screen will become a bit more fuzzy.  Perhaps it is because of the many plates I am currently trying to keep spinning without breaking them all at once, or perhaps it’s just the familiar worry that acts a haunting lullaby in the back of mind when I watch E move constantly, or perhaps it’s just what it is a moment in time where I feel a bit scared about the future for our … Continue reading Not being the same as everyone else makes us special…that’s the point.

The gift of the first time…there is still time.

“We must become the change we want to see.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi Ok, so perhaps that title is a little risqué, but for those of you who may think ‘mynewfavoriteday’ has gone into the gutter, it hasn’t, ok maybe sometimes, … Continue reading The gift of the first time…there is still time.

The Magic of the World through a Child’s Eyes…

Ok, so I know this seems a bit random but bear with me on this.  I have been running around like a crazy person doing a million things (like always, I know, I know), but there have been many firsts happening in our household for all members on the family and so today, while in the midst of the madness I don’t have the time to type my usual posts (I will do that tonight) I wanted to share the reminder of what that wonderment is like…what it feels like and then see how and where you can apply … Continue reading The Magic of the World through a Child’s Eyes…

Thoughts about love for Father’s Day….

“There are three stages of a man’s life:  He believes in Santa Claus, he doesn’t believe in Santa Claus, he is Santa Claus.”  ~Author Unknown “Fatherhood is pretending the present you love most is soap-on-a-rope.”  ~Bill Cosby “You will find … Continue reading Thoughts about love for Father’s Day….

Remembering Everyday is a New Day…That’s The Easy Part, Keeping Perspective is Challenging.

The irony of this picture is that I don’t totally subscribe to it because as I have said before I am a spiritual person; however, I do believe that we have choices and make them everyday and those are in your hands.  I had to remember that today as once again I had to confront all of my inner discomfort as Q’s Urologist called to discuss his test results from that horrible VCUG in May (clearly more traumatic for me that him as I still remember it clear as day as the “how could you betray me and tell … Continue reading Remembering Everyday is a New Day…That’s The Easy Part, Keeping Perspective is Challenging.

Thank you for another week with MNFD….

I just want to say thanks again for making helping to make this my new favorite week.  Your journey with me through “mynewfavoriteday’ means so much to me.  As I like to do on Fridays, I created a video recapping our week together… You may or may not hear from me in the next week because I am going to take the week off to give myself a little TLC.  I will be back in full force the week of the 13th, but until then I wish you all a series of joyful moments, lots of smiles, opportunities to make … Continue reading Thank you for another week with MNFD….
